KEP is short for Kolab Enhancement Proposal. In light of KEP, traditionally linked with Python's PEP, KEP #1 describes the purpose, guidelines and process.

Overview

  • KEPs are proposed to the KEP Secretariat.
  • The KEP Secretariat then;
    • Assign the KEP a number,
    • Check in the KEP to the source code management repository,
    • Give the author(s) of the KEP access to the source code management repository.
  • The KEP author(s) place the KEP into the personal name space of the primary author and initiate the community discussion, include feedback to the KEP in a reactive, factual and unbiased manner with the goal of building consensus.
  • KEP Rejection or Acceptance announcement is to be sent to the discussion mailing list by the KEP Secretariat
  • Further edits to the KEP can be made through the source code management repository, and go through the KEP Secretariat to be updated on the wiki when such update is warranted by the author(s), and is announced as such.
  • Rejected KEPs may not be altered, but may be revived as a new KEP.
